Supporting Women in Crisis through Care, Counseling & Empowerment

Priyadarshini , in association with the Women and Child Welfare Department, Government of Telangana, is actively implementing the Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC) in Ranga Reddy District. This initiative is part of a national mission to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence, abuse, and social challenges in both private and public spaces.

Our collaboration with the Sakhi Centre focuses on helping women in domestic violence situations, survivors of sexual harassment or abuse, and those experiencing family, legal, or psychological challenges.

🎯 Objective of Sakhi OSC:

The One Stop Centre is designed to support women and girls facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, and economic abuse—regardless of their age, caste, religion, marital or educational status. It offers comprehensive redressal and referral services, ensuring victims are treated with dignity and provided the tools to reclaim their lives.

  • To provide legal, medical, psychological, and social support under one roof

  • To create awareness of women's rights and protective laws

  • To build pathways for recovery, empowerment, and reintegration into society

💠 Services Provided:

🔹 Emergency Response & Rescue

  • 24/7 assistance to women in crisis situations

  • Immediate shelter, safety, and access to medical and legal aid

🔹 Counseling Services

  • Family counseling, marital mediation, and relationship support

  • Psychological counseling for trauma recovery and emotional well-being

🔹 Legal Support

  • Legal awareness sessions and referral to legal aid services

  • Assistance with filing complaints and accessing protection under women's laws

🔹 Awareness & Outreach Programs

  • Conducting women’s rights awareness campaigns

  • Organizing community-level camps on domestic violence, sexual harassment laws, child protection, and gender sensitization

🔹 Rehabilitation & Empowerment

  • Linking survivors with skill development and livelihood training

  • Encouraging economic independence through referrals to training and employment programs

This program is actively serving women and girls in Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, including rural, semi-urban, and slum communities.

  • Community mobilization and outreach to identify women in need

  • Offering referral services to skill development programs, shelter homes, and legal aid

  • Providing ongoing support, empathy, and guidance to women rebuilding their lives

🛡️ Priyadarshini’s Role in Implementation Every Year:

Priyadarshini has been operating the Sakhi Centre in Ranga Reddy for over one year, taking a holistic and community-based approach. Our core activities include:

  • Case Support: Over 964 women and girl child cases have been registered and assisted

  • Awareness Creation: Conducted 45 awareness programs across villages and mandals

  • Volunteer Mobilization: Recruited 35 active volunteers (25 women and 10 men) from across the district

  • Community Engagement: Collaborated with village sarpanches and Gram Sabhas to reach deep rural populations

  • Legal and Counseling Services: Provided through trained professionals and referral networks

  • Monitoring & Advocacy: Frequent visits and collaboration with District Welfare Officers and officials

Community Awareness and Outreach:

Through our continuous engagement and sensitization programs, awareness among rural women and youth has significantly increased, resulting in a growing number of survivors confidently reaching out for support.

The Sakhi OSC in Ranga Reddy, with the support of Priyadarshini , is not just a service center—it's a lifeline for women and girls in distress. Together, we are working to build a safe, just, and empowered society for all.
